Insomnia

There are a number of odd events that can cause insomnia. A number of people can't get to sleep in the bed they had made or worse yet, they don't know if it's the bed they made. Some people feel that they need to know they are the ones who made the bed or will have a tough time getting to sleep. You need to condition your mind that your bed is for sleeping. Do not watch TV in bed. TV will usually stimulate your senses and cause you to stay awake or may trigger something that could keep you awake. I usually will read at night and that causes my eyes to get real tired and a sleepy felling. Nothing is more boring at night than a good old technology book. Hopefully the physical bed you own is good enough, and you haven't been drinking caffeine or eating anything that causes acid reflux before going to bed.

Sometimes I feel the worst part of insomnia is looking at clock and seeing how late it is and how tired you will be in the morning and at work. This stress in itself can continue your insomnia. When you are worried about getting through the next day because you can not sleep can also cause stress. Stress and worry can affect your sleep quite dramatically. Establish a regular sleep schedule. Even on the weekends you should try and keep a regular schedule. Sleeping late can cause more harm than good.

Melatonin is probably the most studied and best understood natural sleep remedy for insomnia, and can be particularly helpful if you suffer from sleep onset or insomnia. You should only take Melatonin with the approval of your doctor because different people have different reactions to it.
